Weddings to Celebrate: Megan & Stephen

There are no words to properly describe how much I adore this family.  I planned Jackelyn & Zachary's wedding back in 2012 and was THRILLED when Megan (Zachary's sister) asked me to help with the planning for her wedding.  You couldn't meet a nicer group of people, and I am honored to call them friends.  They are welcoming, wonderful, open, loving and full of fun.  And Megan's wedding was all of those things times a million.  Though it was easily one of the most beautiful events I've ever planned, it was incredible because of the "vibe" in the room.  From the guests to the food to the music playing, it was a fairytale event.  I'll let the pictures tell you the rest of the story.  (If you don't know it already, Chip Gillespie is the bee's knees.)

Happy planning!!

Engagement to Celebrate :: Kaitlyn & Jacob

Kaitlyn and Jacob met on their first day training for a mission trip that they had both signed up for. They were headed to teach an english summer camp for Chinese children in Beijing. During this training course and five-week trip overseas, their friendship blossomed. They supported each other in one of the hardest experiences they had ever encountered in their young lives. Upon returning to the states, their friendship grew into something more. Jacob confessed his feelings for Kaitlyn and even though she admits she was scared to take the next step, they finally agreed to go on a date.

Kaitlyn is going to school to become a secondary english teacher and Jacob will graduate with a Bachelors degree in Biblical Studies in May. They are both students at Dallas Baptist University and passionate about helping people; especially through overseas missions.

They are extremely excited to finish school, travel more, and serve others locally and overseas. Their hearts are so big for the people and places that God puts on this earth. They hope that their relationship is a testimony to God's faithfulness, and they are so thankful for the opportunity to love one another and build a life and family together.

Just like the rest of us, they know the wind could blow them anywhere... and that is the beauty of it all!

A Wedding Gift that #NailedIt

My husband and I recently moved, and we all know that the entire process can be a challenge! As newlyweds, we had boxed up a lot of our wedding gifts and waited to open and use them until we were in our new home.

A few days ago while I was unpacking a box in the kitchen, I pulled out one of the most heart-felt and exciting gifts we received! It came from a friend whom I had met in grade school. We were part of a club cheerleading team called "The Super-squad" in San Angelo, Texas.

Fast forward near 20 years later, I had no idea what I was in for when I began opening her gift to us.
On the outside it is an insulated & monogrammed tote, and on the inside the real fun began! There were 6 bottles of perfectly selected wine, each with a note tied around it's neck.

#1: "First Date Night" - Little Black Dress Wine - "Roses are red, violets are blue, throw on your little black dress and toast to a date night for two!"
#2: "First Fight" - Relax Wine - "When fights occur and tempers get hot, pour a glass and be thankful for what you've got. If you always agreed it certainly would be a bore. The marrying of a man & woman, surely there'l be more!"
#3: "First Home" - Cul De Sac wine - "The day you've dreamed of is finally here! The future that surrounds you with hope and fear. You've waited so long to finally plant roots, so toast with some wine and kick off your boots!"
#4: "First New Year" - Champagne - "On January first while sharing some kisses, drink this bottle to toast the new year as Mr and Mrs!"
#5: "First Anniversary" - Monogamy Wine - "You've been married a year, where did the time go? No longer newlyweds, now you're pros! Hope this day finds you in good health and spirit, keep saying I love you, one always needs to hear it. Now toast to this date, it's certainly not the last, and as you build your future don't forget about the past! Happy Anniversary!"
#6: "First Baby" - Barefoot Wine - "The news that a baby will soon share your life will make you a mother, not only a wife. You'll see them through good times and sometimes through bad, you're the loving mother and Nick the dearest Dad. Sadly he must drink this alone. As you sit with an empty glass, sit back and relax, nine months will quickly pass."

Now, if that isn't a great wedding gift I don't know what is! Pass the tissues please!

New Venues to Celebrate: Lawless Kitchen & Spirits

Looking to host an non-traditional rehearsal dinner, welcome party or any cocktail-style event?  Check out the new Lawless Kitchen & Spirits, located above Sambuca!  Jaime & the fabulous Crystal Ballroom / Sambuca team oversee Lawless as well.  She hosted an event last night, and I enjoyed every minute of it (the food and spirits were exceptional & the atmosphere is spot-on).

Happy planning!!

Weddings to Celebrate: Justine and Tom

I first met Justine and Tom at his sister's wedding, where he was in need of help with a jacket button gone rogue. Little did we know I'd soon be helping him plan his own wedding!

I have so loved getting to work with this family again, and adding Justine to the mix makes it all the more sweet.

We planned a garden chic wedding in the Austin hill country over Memorial Day weekend, and despite a few curve-balls thrown at us by the weather (tornadoes and floods, eek!), we pulled it off beautifully.

Congratulations, Justine and Tom!

With love,

Jessica

Weddings to Celebrate: Patricia & Kyle

Okay, so this one isn't an official "STC" wedding.  However, I definitely helped with all the planning.  Patricia is my youngest sister-in-law, and she and I share a special bond.  I adore her.  Gabe (my husband, her brother) and I were there when Kyle proposed, and I was honored to help her with the planning process.

Patricia and Kyle are a very laid-back couple.  Patricia's not "frilly" or traditional and likes a simple, Bohemian-style aesthetic.  She and Kyle wanted something intimate with just their closest friends and family.  I think they got exactly what they wanted :)  Here are some of the pictures captured by the team at Theo-Graphics.  Enjoy!

Happy Planning,
{Resha}

Isn't she gorgeous?  Her beauty radiants from within.

Yes, that is me officiating.  No, you will never see me do this for anyone else, ever again (unless there is an emergency).

Kyle is toasting Patricia at this moment. I love the look on her face.

Even their Rain Plan options are gorgeous! And we're thrilled to be one of the few vendors featured in their venue's book. Check it out! And check out Ma Maison. :)

Weddings to Celebrate: Denise & Gray

I love referrals!  They are the best gift a client could ever give me.  When that referral is within the same immediate family, I am doubly delighted.  Especially when it's this family.  They are incredible!!  I was fortunate enough to coordinate Karen & Darryl's wedding back in 2013.  When Karen's parents contacted me last year to ask me to help with Denise's wedding (their oldest daughter), I was over-the-moon :)  I can't say it enough:  I adore this family!!

The forecast for Denise's and Gray's wedding (this past April) was hail on Friday and 100% severe thunderstorms on Saturday (with the heaviest scheduled for right at the ceremony time).  The bride, the groom, and both families handled this news with grace and poise.  We were all prepared for the worst, but were thrilled when the rain held off for the ceremony.  The overcast skies weren't what the bride had originally envisioned, but they ended up making for a glorious event.

Chip Gillespie was there to capture the entire thing, and I am so excited to share some of his pictures with you.  He is amazing!
