Weddings to Celebrate: Courtney & Brandon

I met Courtney & Brandon last summer, and we "clicked" instantly.  I adore this couple, and helping them plan their wedding was a ton of fun.  After meeting their families, I knew why they were such great people.  They both come from exceptional stock!  :)  And they sure do know how to laugh and have a good time!

As always, Julie Wilhite

captured the day beautifully.  Feast your eyes on these pretty pictures...

Weddings to Celebrate: Denise & Gray

I love referrals!  They are the best gift a client could ever give me.  When that referral is within the same immediate family, I am doubly delighted.  Especially when it's this family.  They are incredible!!  I was fortunate enough to coordinate Karen & Darryl's wedding back in 2013.  When Karen's parents contacted me last year to ask me to help with Denise's wedding (their oldest daughter), I was over-the-moon :)  I can't say it enough:  I adore this family!!

The forecast for Denise's and Gray's wedding (this past April) was hail on Friday and 100% severe thunderstorms on Saturday (with the heaviest scheduled for right at the ceremony time).  The bride, the groom, and both families handled this news with grace and poise.  We were all prepared for the worst, but were thrilled when the rain held off for the ceremony.  The overcast skies weren't what the bride had originally envisioned, but they ended up making for a glorious event. Chip Gillespie was there to capture the entire thing, and I am so excited to share some of his pictures with you.  He is amazing!

Our First Decade

I started this company on Spring Break in 2005, which means we've just finished our 10th year. It's been an amazing first decade! We started as a single-planner (me!) business with 13 weddings/year, and have grown to a team of 6 coordinators, many assistants, and a handful of interns, with offices in 2 cities and closer to 80 weddings/year. Best of all, we've managed to attract only the BEST clients, who make our jobs a joy.

Thank you for trusting us with your celebrations. Here's to the next decade! :)

xoxo,

Jessica Moore

Couples to Celebrate: Jimena & Gabriel

This couple has such a special place in my heart. Jimena happens to be one of my close friends from high school so I have know her and Gabriel for quiet some time :) I can't wait to share with you their wedding pictures from last weekend! It was such an honor to coordinate and celebrate their special day with them.

In the meantime, enjoy some of their engagement photos from the amazingly talented Hiram Trillo Photography!

Weddings to Celebrate: Kelly & Zach | Houston Wedding Planner

I love December weddings.  There is just something about the holidays that make the wedding even more magical.  A stunning clear tent, crystal chandeliers, and a beautiful color palette made the overall effect just perfect.  Add to that an exceptional family, and a girl couldn't ask for any more.  It's only been weeks, and I already miss this family to pieces!

Feast your eyes on some of the sensational images captured by Something Gold Photography.  Aren't they lovely?

Happy Planning,

I love the look on Kelly's face when she looks at Zach.  She had this look all day. :)

Nothing like a little mistletoe for those Christmas-time weddings.

I always avoid the camera, but when I am caught in a shot, it's usually pretty funny.

These expressions are priceless.

Nothing says winter wedding reception like a hot chocolate bar.

Love this shot of mother and daughter at the end of the exit. :)

Weddings to Celebrate: Kelly and Sheldon

I so loved working with this beautiful couple! Kelly sent me this super sweet email a couple of weeks after their February wedding:

Jessica!

We are so so SO incredibly thankful for everything you did to help our wedding be the success that it was. That entire weekend was amazing and we both agree - "the best weekend of our lives!" I would not have survived/enjoyed Saturday without your help. I still don't know if there were any snaffoos because you did an awesome job of handling EVERYTHING! I recently was watching a reality show episode where one of the cast members was getting married and everything just seemed so disorganized, despite having a coordinator. While watching, all I keptthinking was "oh my gosh....I can't even imagine" and thankfully, I did not! You were organized, prompt, detail oriented, and professional the entire process, from the first phone call (before we were even engaged) until Chateau Bellevue was locked up on Saturday night.

As always, we're nothing without our vendor team! Here's Kelly and Sheldon's Cast of Vendors:

Thank Yous

I just received this sweet thank you note from one of my February clients. We have the BEST clients - seriously, the sweetest.

Coincidentally, I just yesterday happened across the thank you that my mom wrote to my own "day of" wedding planner while I was honeymooning, over 11 years ago. Moms are the best - thanks Mom!

Lots of warm fuzzies, this chilly day. :)

From color palette to the champagne tower they were always open to trying something a little more unique, which in turn created a wedding that was the perfect representation of them.

You're engaged! Now what...?

If you're one of the many couples to get engaged over the holiday break, congratulations! You're already experiencing the excitement and celebration - enjoy it! But before you dive into planning, take a moment to prioritize your first few steps. Here are my recommendations to get started:

  1. When and where. It's best not to pick an exact date but rather a timeframe (such as March 2016). The flexibility afforded by avoiding an exact date will allow you to select your wedding venue based on a space you love, rather than one that has the perfect date available. Will you be getting married locally, or would you like for your wedding to be in another town/state/country? Again, no need to try to nail down a venue yet - just a geographic area.

  2. The money talk. Though it's usually an uncomfortable talk, it's best to get the money talk done  right away so that expectations are clear from the start. Who will be contributing what - once you have this nailed down, you'll have a clear start in your wedding planning.

  3. Hire a wedding planner. Once you know the when, where and how, the next crucial step is to add an experienced planner to your team. Your planner will keep the entire planning process pleasant while giving you the guidance needed to create an event that celebrates you and this decision you've made to do life together.

Enjoy this time! And congratulations. :)

Weddings to Celebrate: Jennifer & Justen's Lakefront Wedding

I've said it many times before, but the highest compliment anyone could give me is a referral.  When you honor me with the privilege of planning not one, but two of your daughters' weddings … well, that goes beyond compliment.  I love this family.  And I loved helping plan another wedding for them.  A private residence, 30 of your nearest and dearest, a killer gown, yummy food and a great view - I don't think it gets any better than this.  Feast your eyes on the beautiful images captured by the always amazing Chip Gillespie.
