Weddings to Celebrate: Janet & Keith, The Courtyard on St. James | Houston Wedding Planner

Meet Janet and Keith - two of the coolest people you could ever meet.  Janet has one of those smiles that lights up a room.  The instant I saw it, I knew I wanted to coordinate her wedding.  And Keith is so quirky and fun ... it was easy to see why Janet loves him.

At our very first design appointment, Keith told me all about how they met and how he proposed.  I hope he doesn't kill me for saying it:  but he is a romantic.  :-)  And I knew we had to incorporate their "story" into their wedding design.  I would call this one a ribbons and romance theme.  Ribbons because, well - they are fun.  And we had a lot of them - as the ceremony backdrop, on the tables, and accenting the bride & groom's chairs.  Romance because it was all about their love journey (I know that sounds cheesy, but I don't know how else to say it).  I mentioned a couple of things about their journey in the picture captions below.

And speaking of the pictures: these are brought to you courtesy of Heather Curiel. Heather was super easy to work with and did a fantastic job capturing the feel of the day. I loved working with her! I wish I had pictures of their engagement session. It was STUNNING.

I think these guys had way to much fun with the ribbon backdrop :-P

Actual sand from their families' native countries was used in the sand ceremony.  Meaningful, to say the least.

The ceremony has as a garden feel because parks played a big part of their courtship :-)

Candles played a key role in Keith's proposal; therefore, we decided to use them as part of the escort cards.

They danced!

And danced!
